Positioning your offer

Lesson 7 of 8 · 7 min

Make it believable

A sharp offer at a real price invites one silent question: why you? Proof answers it. Most people think proof means big client logos, so they conclude they have none and skip it entirely.

Proof you already have

  • A number from any past project, even a small one.
  • A teardown of a prospect’s current setup, done before they hired you.
  • A written process — showing you have a method is proof you have done it before.
  • A guarantee that costs you something if you fail.

Specific and small beats vague and grand. "Cut their page weight from 4.2MB to 900KB in nine days" is more convincing than "trusted by industry leaders," and you can earn that sentence on your very first project.

Try it

Write three proof sentences using real numbers from any work you have done, paid or not. Each must name a metric and a timeframe. Put the strongest one directly under your positioning statement.
